Thursday 14 September marks R U OK? Day, a national day built around starting a meaningful conversation with a friend, family member or colleague about their mental health, and spotting the signs in someone you know who may be struggling with life. The entire conversation starts with a simple question: “Are you okay?” Here are some tips on how to do this, and why it is so important.
Poor mental health in Australia is perhaps more prominent now than it has ever been — especially following the last few years and the current world we live in. According to the Department of Health and Aged Care at least one in two Australians will face mental health issues at some point in their lives.
