APodA member and former Board Director, Dr William Mackieson OAM was recently awarded the Order of Australia. Here’s how you can nominate another well-deserving podiatrist in future!
Dr Mackieson served with the St John Ambulance Victoria for 50 years from 1959 to 2009, as well as being the friendly face behind Morecroft’s Podiatry Services in Lilydale. You can read more about his story in this news article. A well deserved congratulations to Bill!
Bill now joins the ranks of fellow podiatrists who have been awarded the Order of Australia model, which goes a long way to help advocate for the entire profession.
The Order of Australia states that its award system, “Recognises Australians who have demonstrated outstanding service or exceptional achievement.”

“Nominating someone is a chance to recognise a peer for their hard-work, service and dedication. It is an opportunity to celebrate those inspiring people who make our nation what it is,” according to the official website.
